Ångström Aerospace Corporation receives order from the Swedish Defence for advanced MEMS technology.

The fast growing innovation company, Ångström Aerospace has received an order from the Swedish Defence for advanced micro-electromechanical-systems (MEMS).

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has placed an initial order on Ångström Aerospace to study applications of advanced micro/nano technology (MEMS/NEMS) systems for the future Swedish defence. The first systems will be demonstrated during the spring of 2007 and is expected to increase the performance per weight ratio of military systems of up to 70 times.

In order to meet the large customer demand, Ångström Aerospace is increasing its facilities. New laboratories and clean rooms has already been acquired and will be phased in the research, development, and manufacturing during the coming fall.

“To have access to a clean room in-house is an important part and it will allow us to better make use of the world class facilities at the Ångström laboratory and Chalmers Technical University.”, says Ångström Aerospace’s development director Peter Nilsson.

In order to maximize the output of the order, Ångström Aerospace will work closely with Ångström laboratory and Chalmers Technical University.

”It is very encouraging that demanding customers such as the Swedish Defence and the Swedish National Space Board believes in our technology and future products”,  says Ångström Aerospace’s CEO, Dr. Fredrik Bruhn.
